Gangs of Rome painted for a friend.

A friend who doesn't paint asked me to do his Gangs of Rome figures for him.

Here was the progress last year to the finished result. Our usual deal applies in that in return he makes a donation to a charity. This time it was to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Other than specifying how many slings, archers and spears he wanted, every thing was left to me.

Started with usual white undercoat.

Contrast paint for the skin. I think I used mostly Gulliman flesh with some others thrown in the mix.

Initial splashes of colour.

Moving to basing. My usual is rough sand, painted with Miniature Paints Khaki and drybrushed Miniature Paints Sand.

My friend did not want figures fixed to the big bases, so he change the composition for each game. I arranged the rocks and foliage on the big bases to allow 5 figures on each base.

And the finished product. I'm pleased with the result.
