Saxons !

Finally got some Saxons finished.  I decided to focus on one tray instead of trying to do all 500 plus figures at once.  Here's the result.

And a bit closer on some chaps.

The Saxon right flank viewed from lower down.

And the left.

And the whole tray again.

And in getting this far, I've just spotted a shield that should be quartered but isn't.  If any reader wants - have a little game of spot the shield.  I'll go away shortly and paint that missing quarter.

Next I'll try to finish the more armoured Huscarls.

    1. Thanks Phil. I may have spent more time on them than 6mm merit, but I reckon they pass the 3 foot test and I'm hoping their owner will like them.

    1. Thanks Ross. Yea - 6mm is an aquired taste which I've not yet developed. It's taken me 5 months to get this far. My next painting task will definitely involve bigger figures and uniforms.
      cheers.

  3. Very nice mate, I also think spot the shield should be a regular feature!

  4. Good one. I reckon there's a point in most of painting projects where I sit back and think - it's finished. Then some time later, maybe even when basing or varnishing, I spot a spear, scabbard or belt that I've missed.
    cheers,
