Are we there yet?

Almost ... that's all the units painted. Just got to do the final liquin and oil paint wash then the bases. Here's a view of the final units.

I put the flags down as a quick test to see how the facing colours and flags looked together. The only one I'm not sure about is the Austrian flag in the centre. Apparently it was used by some regiments in Austrian service. I thought it was a good idea at the time, but now I'm not so sure. I think I might replace it with one of the white flags at the bottom of the picture.

A closer view.
Another closer view. This view compares the units at the back which have been given the liquin and oil paint wash and the basic paint job at the front.

With a tow-row, row-row, row row ...

For the Danish grenadiers ...

After I looked at the last post I realised there was a unit missing ... the grenadiers.

These are intended to be the counterpoint to the scruffy dragoons - smart and clean, but still tough as old boots. Just got the bases to finish.

new year

A good new year to all.
I didn't quite manage to get as much painted as I had intended by the end of 2011, but I made some progress on the GNW stuff. Here is the latest work in progress. Figures are mostly done, but the bases and standards have to be finished.
Generals and cuirassiers.

Fynske finally getting near completion after many months.

And dragoons, with scratch build horse holder stand. I tried to make the dragoons a bit scruffier than most units.

And 3 infantry units nearing completion. Prince Charles regiment in the yellow facings has the battalion gun.

And so, not quite complete by the end of the year. But getting there. And just a few more to do after this lot.
